Palaeography Training: Medieval Manuscripts

Welcome

Welcome to the pages of the AHRC-funded doctoral training scheme in medieval palaeography for University of Wales students.

LATEST NEWS AUTUMN 2006: The AHRC has agreed for the scheme to run a second year with the remaining funds. See other pages on this website for further details.

This is a pilot scheme in medieval palaeography now organized from the IMEMS/CMS (Institute for Medieval and Early Modern Studies/Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Wales, Bangor) by Dr Raluca Radulescu (English) in collaboration with medievalists from across the University of Wales. The scheme is running during 2005-6 (and now also 2006-7) and access to the events is offered to all postgraduates registered for a doctoral degree, subject to recommendation and approval by the relevant supervisor(s) and department(s).

The website contains links to a blackboard module to which all registered students and staff have access and which also functions as a forum for discussion. This pilot scheme is also generously funded through grants from AMARC (the Association for Manuscripts and Archives in Research Collections), the University of Wales Colloquium fund. In 2005/6 it was also kindly supported by Bernard Quaritch Ltd.
